About Us
Academics and Athletics for All (AAA) is a student-run nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure that every child from an impoverished background has the resources to explore their interests in both academics and athletics.
We understand how pivotal the childhood years are for a youngster’s personal growth, and that both physically- and intellectually-stimulating activities are needed to shape a healthy and happy kid. Consumer society has developed an elitist culture of only the financially well-off families having access to these types of materials, however, we hope to give low-income family kids this same chance. Thus, AAA’s purpose is to aid these kids in diving into their favorite school subject in the classroom and learning an exhilarating sport outside the classroom.
In order to accomplish these goals, our members collect athletic equipment, athletic clothing, educational materials, and recycled technology to donate to kids who need them. We gather items from around our own community, set up donation bins at different sports centers and libraries, and hold occasional distribution or tutoring events.
Our values as an organization include: Ambition, Leadership, and Learning (or A.L.L). Our A.L.L. acronym represents the skills our youth team always put into practice, and the mindset we want our kids to grow into. Always igniting our inner ambition to pursue our goals and face obstacles head-on. Become a leader in displaying your strengths and using them to better the welfare of the community. And of course, never stop learning from your peers, your teachers, and from past mistakes. These three elements are what bring cohesion to AAA.
We strive to open up opportunities for kids to learn what they love and help them believe in their own capabilities.
